The IT Executive Steering Committee will help IT leadership across UBC maximise institution-wide value from IT investments and practices. Participating Vice Presidents and Deans spend time understanding IT initiatives of system-wide significance and provide guidance about priorities based on the university's strategic plan.
Committee's Objectives
- Determine policies and principles for IT services across all of UBC. ; This includes discussion and endorsement of common practices in IT management, IT solutions and services. Support the development of Board policies, procedures and guidelines with respect to IT.
- Set priorities for IT activities across all of UBC in line with UBC's strategic needs, for example by interpreting UBC's strategic Commitments for IT leadership across UBC and by prioritising options for shared solutions.
- Directly oversee investment decisions out of institutional IT projects fund. This includes supporting the creation of a fund for institutional IT projects not supported by other governance committees, and approval of dollar commitments to project work of institutional scale.
- Support IT principles among university leadership and our general community.
