Established in May of 2019, the Information Technology Capital Planning Committee (ITCPC) advises Executive leadership at the university on the relative priorities of IT investment requests and makes recommendations on which projects should proceed based on the UBC strategic plan, institutional objectives and risk.
The ITCPC reviews proposed projects that require significant investment, central funding, or impactful use of central resources. A standardized scoring rubric and the broad expertise and experience of the committee are used to prioritize these investments.
The ITCPC also oversees management of the IT capital projects fund and reviews overall project delivery relative to projected costs and outcomes.
ITCPC is a formal advisory step within the IT governance model.
