As the use of Generative AI becomes more widespread, UBC needs to undertake an analysis to understand the risks, issues and opportunities for UBC, and make recommendations for areas for further study and response in order to effectively support faculty, staff, researchers and students. This Working Group will investigate potential implications and impact of Generative AI and other AI tools on the areas of pedagogy, and academic and administrative operations within the higher education institution context to provide recommendations for how UBC should address the opportunities and challenges.
